Davis And Wilkins On Way To Super Regionals

MANHATTAN, KS / RALEIGH, NC / LOS ANGELES (6-03-2013) --  Two of the three ex-Palomar players in the Regional round are advancing with their teams to this weekend's Best 2-of-3 NCAA Division I Super Regionals.

Starting right fielder Jon Davis and Big 12 champion Kansas State wrapped up the Manhattan, KS Regional by beating Arkansas 4-3 on Sunday and will visit Oregon State, which eliminated Texas A&M to win the Corvallis, OR Regional.

Davis, who had four RBIs in a 20-11 win over Wichita State to begin the regional, contributed a single and run scored vs. the Razorbacks.

In the Raleigh, NC Regional, right-hander Ryan Wilkins pitched two innings in relief as North Carolina State defeated William & Mary 9-2 on Sunday. The Wolfpack will visit Rice, which defeated Oregon to win the Eugene, OR Regional.

The third ex-Comet, right-hander Trevor Bayless, pitched 2/3 of an inning without allowing a run as the University of San Diego defeated Cal Poly 8-5 to stay alive in the Los Angeles Regional on Sunday. But UCLA then blanked the Toreros 6-0 on Sunday night to win the regional and move on to the Super Regional round.
