Comets charge ahead with win over Jaguars

CHULA VISTA, CA (9/27/2023) -- The Palomar College women's water polo team has been a slow starter this season, but was able to collect a 12-6 win over Southwestern College in their conference opener.

Sophomore Devyn Wible led the Comets with three goals. She also recorded two steals. Freshman Emily Freeman was a defensive star, recorded seven steals, a team-high. Sophomores Maggie Tanner and Hannah Morris and freshman Ayano Tsuda all recorded two goals each. Sophomore Grace Goode and Freeman both had three assists.

Goalie Natalie Braegger had seven saves on 13 shots. Palomar as a team was able to get off 24 total shots. 

The Comets improve to 4-9 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They will host Grossmont College on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. conference match.
