Women go 3-1 at Mt. SAC Mountie Classic

WALNUT, CA (9/29/2019) – This past weekend, women's water polo was in the Mt. San Antonio College Mountie Classic. They went 3-1 on the weekend.

The Comets first faced Fresno College on Friday. In their first game, the Comets won 12-7. Sydni Dickson scored seven goals, a career-high, on three shots and recorded two assists. Harley Young had two goals on four shots and Ciara Webb had two goals. Young recorded three assists and two steals. Goalie Julia Miller had nine saves on 16 shots.

In the next game, Palomar faced Santa Monica College and won 12-7. Palomar got to work right away with a goal by Alondra Alvarez, followed by two goals by Young in the first quarter. Young continued her scoring streak and had two more in the second, Sydni Dickson also scored two goals on assists by Ciara Webb. Dickson scored three more times in the third quarter. Webb and Haley Blach both scored in the fourth. Julia Miller had eight saves on 15 shots.

On the second day of the tournament, the women lost to the Philippines Women's National Team 20-5 and bounced back to beat Rio Hondo 13-2.

The women are now 5-4 overall and will be back in conference action on Wednesday when they travel to Southwestern College. They will play at 2 p.m.
