
Palomar Dominates on Sophomore Night with Sweep Over San Diego Miramar College
SAN MARCOS, CA (11/8/2024) -- After a tough three-set loss to San Diego Mesa College, the Palomar College women's volleyball team bounced back impressively with a three-set sweep over San Diego Miramar College on Sophomore Night. The Comets secured their victory with consistent teamwork and strong performances across the board.
Janell Spires once again showcased her leadership, topping the team with 10 kills. Brisa Necochea and Emma Bambe followed closely, each contributing seven kills to the offensive effort. Setter Kylana Madayag orchestrated the attack, dishing out 19 assists, while Ashlynn Craven added 11 assists to ensure a dynamic offensive rhythm.
Defensively, Cadence Young led with a stellar 14 digs, while Spires added 13, providing Palomar with a solid back-row presence throughout the match. Mariah Flores was a key contributor at the net, recording two blocks to help limit Miramar's offensive chances.
