SAN DIEGO, CA (10/4/2024) -- The Palomar College women's volleyball team battled San Diego Mesa College in a hard-fought match but was reverse swept after taking the first two sets, falling 3-2 (25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 18-25, 9-15). The Comets put up a strong fight but couldn't hold off Mesa's comeback effort.
Janell Spires once again led the way for Palomar with 18 kills and 14 digs, while libero Emma Bambe was a defensive standout with a team-high 18 digs. Cadence Young chipped in with 13 digs, and Brisa Necochea and Emma Bambe both added seven digs. Teiora Tinoisamoa contributed eight kills and led the team at the net with four blocks.
Setter Ashlynn Craven dished out 28 assists to keep the offense flowing, while Delina Becker contributed three service aces to give the Comets a spark.
Despite the tough loss, the Comets showed resilience and will look to bounce back in their next match.
