Lewis and Broach First Team All-PCAC

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/28/2022) -- Finishing up one of their best seasons in recent years, the Comets had four players named to the All-PCAC team. Freshman Savanna Lewis and sophomore Kenna Broach were named First Team and Rachael Cooke and Holland Hancock were named Second Team. 

Lewis, an outside hitter from Del Norte High School, finished the conference schedule with 197 kills, with a high of 25 against San Diego Miramar College on Nov. 2 in a three-set sweep of the Jets. She finished with a hitting percentage of .268 in conference play. Lewis also totaled seven service access, 92 digs and 19 blocks through the conference schedule. 

A setter out of Heritage in Menifee, Broach was a leader on and off the court for the Comets this season. She totaled 447 assists and was dominant at the serving line, totaling 26 service aces. She also played defense in the back line, racking up 109 digs and recorded nine assisted blocks up front. 

At middle blocker, Cooke, a sophomore from Mission Hills, totaled six blocks through the conference schedule. She also racked up 71 kills for a hitting percentage of .223. Cooke was also a force at the service line as she racked up 22 service aces. 

A dominant player in both the front and back rows, sophomore Hancock totaled 114 kills, 145 digs, 16 service aces, four blocks and four assists through the conference schedule. Hancock was a consistent factor in the team's success this season, playing every point of every match. 

Freshman Hope Ihem was credited an honorable mention. She totaled 52 kills, two assists and 22 total blocks through conference play. Sophomore libero Amaya Garcia was also given an honorable mention. She totaled 122 digs from the back row and totaled 13 service aces at the serving line.
