Comets cruise past Coyotes to improve to 3-3 in PCAC

EL CAJON, CA (10/5/2022) -- Coming off a clean sweep of Imperial Valley College on Friday night, Palomar traveled to Cuyamaca College and made sure to bring the brooms as the Comets swept the Coyotes 3-0.

Palomar showed their power in sets one and two winning 25-14 and 25-13, respectively. The Coyotes showed they had some bite left in them in the third set, but the Comets took it away with a 25-21 score.

Crafty lefty freshman Lacey Garcia led the team with 12 kills, while sophomore Rachael Cooke had eight and both sophomore Brynn Wallander and freshman Savanna Lewis had seven. Sophomore Amaya Garcia had four aces from the service stripe. Sophomore Kenna Broach finished the night with nine digs and freshman Bailey Prieto had seven.

Palomar moves to 7-5 overall and improves to 3-3 in conference play. They have an off day on Friday and will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 12 down at Southwestern for a 5 p.m. first serve.
