Widdoss to the next level

SAN MARCOS, CA (12/8/2021) -- Freshman middleblocker Casey Widdoss has committed to Black Hills State University in South Dakota. The standout player earned accolades all season including CCCWVCA player of the week, Comet of the Week and received an All-PCAC First Team honor.

Widdoss had a season-high 32 kills against San Diego City College in a 3-1 win for the Comets and a week later had 31 kills against Imperial Valley College in a 3-2 loss. As the season went on nad teams would send to blockers her way everytime, Widdoss had to find a way to get the ball down and did she. She had two 21 kill performances back-to-back, against City and Imperial Valley again. At 6'1, Widdoss racked up 28 blocks on the season.

Black Hills is a NCAA Division II school and competes in the RMAC. The Yellow Jackets were 8-18 last season.

Congrats Casey!
