Comets win first home match of season in five sets

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/3/2019) – In their home opener, women's volleyball went five sets against San Bernardino Valley College and came out with a win, 3-2.

The Comets won the first set 25-18 and lost the second 25-22. They then came back and won the third set 25-22 and lost the fourth set 25-20, but battled back after being down 21-10. The Comets completely dominated the fifth set with a final score of 15-3.

Alina Lecakes-Jones had 13 kills and 37 total attacks on the night. Zandrea Brown had 38 total attacks and nine kills. Carsyn Emerson recorded 26 assists, 12 digs and two service aces. Arielle Vannoy had three services aces.

Palomar is now 1-2. The Comets will face Irvine Valley College on Friday with first serve happening at noon. They will then face Cal Lutheran JV at 2:30.
