
Contreras Finishes Ninth at 3C2A SoCal Heptathlon
NORWALK, CA (4/2/2025) -- Palomar College freshman Roxana Contreras put together a gritty and well-rounded performance at the 2025 3C2A Southern California Heptathlon Championships, held at Cerritos College. Competing against some of the top multi-event athletes in the region, Contreras finished 9th overall in the two-day event.
Contreras' highlight came in the long jump, where she soared to first place with a mark of 4.97 meters, showing off her explosive athleticism and scoring key points toward her final standing.
She opened the competition with the 100-meter hurdles, running 21.73 seconds to place 11th, followed by a 9th-place finish in the high jump at 1.34 meters. In the shot put, she threw 6.39 meters for 10th, then ran 29.96 seconds in the 200 meters to close out day one in 11th.
Day two began with her top finish in the long jump, followed by a 4th-place effort in the javelin (23.07m). Contreras closed out the meet with a strong run in the 800 meters, clocking 3:01.39 to take 9th.
