SAN MARCOS, CA (10/3/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer faced a challenging stretch in conference play, falling 2-0 to Southwestern College on Tuesday before battling to a 1-1 draw with Grossmont College on Friday at Minkoff Field.
Against Southwestern, the Comets created several dangerous chances but couldn't find the finishing touch, as the Jaguars capitalized on a pair of goals to hand Palomar its first conference loss since early September.
Back home on Friday, the Comets struck first when Lizzy Cook buried a shot in the 28th minute to put Palomar on top 1-0. Grossmont equalized later in the second half, and despite steady pressure from the Comet attack in the second, the score held.
Nathalie Mancilla and Gianna Belasco shared time in goal, keeping the Griffins in check as Palomar secured the draw.
The Comets (5-2-3) will travel to MiraCosta College on Tuesday for a pivotal rivalry matchup in conference play.
