SAN DIEGO, CA (10/18/2024) -- The Palomar College women's soccer team battled but ultimately fell 2-1 to San Diego Miramar College in a closely contested match. Down 2-0 at halftime, the Comets mounted a second-half comeback attempt led by sophomore Ashley Clark, who scored in the 60th minute off an assist from Maddie Spielman to cut the deficit to one.
Goalkeeper Gianna Velasco delivered a strong performance in net, recording 10 saves and keeping Palomar within reach throughout the match. Despite the effort, the Comets were unable to find an equalizer, dropping a tough conference game.
The Comets will look to regroup and build on this performance as they continue their conference schedule.
