Comets Bounce Back with Dominant 9-0 Victory Over Cuyamaca College

RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA (9/20/2024) -- After a tough loss in their conference opener, the Palomar College women's soccer team came roaring back with an emphatic 9-0 win over Cuyamaca College on Friday afternoon. The Comets wasted no time, scoring six goals in the first half and cruising to their third victory of the season.

Naomi Allen led the charge with her first career hat trick, finding the back of the net three times in a commanding performance. Maddie Spielman continued her strong play, adding two goals to her tally, while Ashley Clark also notched a brace. Clark contributed in other areas as well, recording two assists, while Zusi Moran provided two assists of her own, and Teresa Reza added one.

The Comets' goalkeepers split time between the posts, with Giana Velasco starting the match and Kaylee Cole stepping in to finish. Cole made two saves to help preserve the clean sheet, marking another dominant defensive effort for Palomar.

The Comets, now 3-4 overall, will look to carry this momentum forward as they continue conference play.
