Box announced as next US Men's and Women's Senior World Teams team leader/coach

SAN MARCOS, CA (7/26/2023) -- Tim Box has been named the USA Wrestling Men's and Women's Senior World Teams in beach wrestling set to take place in Constanta, Romania September 7-8, 2023. 

Box, fresh off a 5th place finish at the UWW Beach World Series in St. laurent Du Var, France, has been an active member in the Beach Wrestling community. In 2019, he was a silver medalist in Odessa, Ukraine, just one of four US athletes tpo ever reach the finals of a UWW Senior Beach Wrestling competition. 

Before stepping into the coaching ranks, Box was a NCAA DI qualifier who competed at CSU Bakersfield and Northern Colorado where he served as captain of both programs. Box joined Palomar in 2021 as the head wrestling coach and has helped bring the program back into the conversation. Box has worked to bring women's wrestling to the community college level and this past spring, he coached four women at Palomar as the CCCAA granted the sport emerging sport status.
