Rio Hondo takes down Palomar

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/30/2019) – Wrestling faced Rio Hondo in a conference match and lost 47-6.

Palomar's Juan Diaz faced Adrian Cuevara in the 125-weight class and lost in a 13-8 decision. Next up was Anthony Cox facing Rio Hondo's Kalil Tucker in the 133-weight class. Cox lost in a technical fall. Rio Hondo led 14-0. In the 141-weight class was Dylan Livingston facing Christian Espinoza. Espinoza won by a technical fall over Livingston. Palomar forfeited the 149-weight class and Rio Hondo then led 20-0. Taro Harmon represents the Comets in the 157-weight class. Ismael Cruz won by a fall over Harmon. For the 165-weght class, Rio Hondo's Isaac Escarena defeated Frank Sanchez in a 9-7 decision that came down to the final 10 seconds of the match. Hugo Epastillar of Rio Hondo won the 174-weight class with a fall over James Rodriguez. Palomar won the 184-weight class due to forfeit by Rio Hondo. The score was now 35-6. Palomar lost both the 197 and 285-weight classes by fall.

The Comets will be back in action on Nov. 6 when they travel to Cerritos to wrestle at 7 p.m.
