Wrestling pinned by Santa Ana

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/23/2019) – Wrestling hosted Santa Ana College on Wednesday night and lost 37-12.

In the 125-weight class, Palomar's Juan Diaz was defeated by Hector Camarena in a 6-3 decision. Nest up was Anthony Cox in the 133-weight class. He took on Isiah Calderon and was pinned. Wrestling in the 141-weight class was Dylan Livingston for the Comets and he was pinned by Ali Keva. The Dons led 15-0. Palomar's Lance McNatt was in the 149-weight class and was also pinned. In the 157-weight class was Frank Sanchez for the Comets and lost to Christian Hernandez in an 8-3 decision. Next was James Rodriguez representing the Comets in the 174s. He lost to Daniel Serrano in a 12-1 decision. The Comets received points on a forfeit in the 174-weight class by Santa Ana. The Dons led the Comets 34-6. Thomas Rizk faced Santa Ana's Joseph Nava in the 197-weight class. The two each had one point through three periods and went into sudden death where Nava was named the victor in a 6-1 decision. Rounding out the team was Enrique Galicia for the Comets who had no opponent was awarded six points. The Dons won 37-12.

The men will be competing the Cuesta Tournament this weekend. They will be back home on Oct. 30 to face Rio Hondo.
