Palomar Dominates Long Beach in Crossover Event Opener

HEMET, CA (11/7/2024) -- The Palomar College women's basketball team made a powerful statement in their first game of the Mt. San Jacinto College Crossover event, defeating Long Beach City College 76-52. An explosive second quarter saw the Comets outscore their opponents 29-14, setting the tone for a decisive victory.

Nevaeh Mageo led the charge with an impressive shooting display, hitting five three-pointers to finish with a team-high 15 points. Brooke Quintana added 13 points, including two from beyond the arc, while Kailani Flournoy delivered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kylee Trujillo chipped in with 10 points and six assists, showcasing her playmaking skills.

Palomar's defense was relentless, converting turnovers into 26 points and limiting Long Beach's scoring opportunities. The team's bench was also a significant factor, contributing 30 points to Long Beach's 14, highlighting Palomar's depth and versatility.
