HEMET, CA (11/10/2023) -- Palomar continued to flex their dominance early in the season with an 89-51 win over Antelope Valley College in their final game of the Mt. San Jacinto College Crossover.
The freshmen have been stepping up for the Comets so far this season and Friday morning was no exception. Guard Naveah Mageo finished the day with 24 points, knocking down eight threes. She also had six rebounds, four offensive and a steal. Angelina De Leon finished the day with 21 points, 8-20 in the field and a perfect 4-4 at the free throw line. She was one of four Comets with six rebounds, five of which were offensive. De Leon also had three assists, two steals and two blocks. Faith Brinkman rounded out the double-digit scoring with 16 of her own, going 4-12 at the three-point line. She had six rebounds, four assists and four steals on the day.
Palomar moves to 3-0 on the season and will be home next weekend as they host the Comet Classic. They will play Allan Hancock College at 6 p.m. on Friday and will play East Los Angeles College on Saturday for another 6 p.m tip.
