Terraza and Harvey shine bright in win over Coyotes

SAN MARCOS, CA (1/18/2023) -- Finally back home for the first time in weeks, No. 1 Palomar College hosted Cuyamaca College on a special night and won 106-25.

Sophomore Deajanae Harvey has not slowed down since the season began, if anything she's only speeding up. She posted a career-high 43 points against the Coyotes. She also decided to have some fun on defense by finishing the night with 11 steals, five of which came in the first quarter alone. Harvey ended the night with eight rebounds. She was the only Comet in double-digits.

But despite the impressive performance, that was not the night's highlight for the Comets. Evelyn Terraza made her debut for the Comets after returning from ACL surgery. Before Terraza entered the game, the fans and bench were cheering as she jogged down to the table to check into the game. She played her role and finally hit a 3-pointer in the third fourth quarter off an assist from Harvey and the Dome's roof blew off from the eruption of cheers. Terraza finished the night with two steals, an assist and one rebound.

Terraza, Harvey and the rest of Comets moved to 18-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They will face MiraCosta College on Friday night in Oceanside for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
