Comets breeze past Huskies

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/20/2021) -- Fresh off a victory over Allan Hancock, the Comets faced an old foe in East LA College on the final night of the Comet Classic and walked away with a dominating 83-51 win to stay perfect on the season. 

The Comets, as always, put on a show for the crowd. Kayla Williams, who continues to improve each game, finished the night with her second double-double. She had 15 points, 11 rebounds and one steal on the night. Rory Hetrick also had a double-double finishing with 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks. Deajanae Harvey was the high-scorer with 17 points and also recorded eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

As a team, the Comets had 53 rebounds and committed 11 turnovers, but caused 21 to score 23 points. They shot 35.5% inside and 20.5% from beyond the arc. 

The Comets are ranked No. 2 in SoCal in the preseason polls and have taken down four teams in the top 15. Palomar is 5-0 on the season and will head to Cypress College for the Cypress College Tournament on Dec. 3. They will face Santa Monica COllege at 4 p.m.
