Softball continues to show PCAC dominance

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/12/2019) – Palomar beat Southwestern 4-0 to take control of the conference.

With two runners on in the first, Kendall Kates (0-3) reached first on an error by the second baseman and Mary Nejo (0-2) advanced to third and Kylie Pignone (2-3) scored. Allie Hughen (1-3) singled and drove Nejo home on an unearned run.

In the second inning, Pignone singled and brought Jillian Zamora (1-2) home. Sarah Fisher (1-3) also singled and scored Pignone.

Hughen pitched all seven innings and had nine strikeouts and gave up three hits.

The Comets are now 28-5 overall and are 12-1 in conference play.

Palomar will be back on the field against College of the Desert on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
