Comets fall to Santiago Canyon, beat Mt. SAC

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/23/2019) – In the first of two nonconference games, Palomar lost to Santiago Canyon 11-8 in nine innings.

Megan Wachholtz got things started in the first inning with a double and two RBIs. Kendall Kates also doubled with one RBI. In the fourth inning, Sarah Fisher singled and brought Jillian Zamora home. Mary Nejo hit a double next and had two RBIs. She then had a single-run home run in the ninth inning.

Nejo went 3-5 with three RBIs. Kates was 4-5 with the one RBI and Wachholtz was 2-5 with two RBIs.

Catalina Aguilar pitched six innings with seven strikeouts and gave up six hits. Audrey Braun pitched the final three innings and had one strikeout and gave up five hits.

 

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/23/2019) -- Palomar beat Mt. San Antonio College 1-0 on Saturday. This was the second time the two teams met this season, with Mt. SAC taking the first game 6-0.

The only run came in the third inning when Kylie Pignone tripled, which brought Antionette Robinson home. Pignone went 1-2 on the day and Robinson was 1-3.

Catalina Aguilar pitched all seven innings with three strikeouts and five hits.

The Comets are now 19-5 overall and 7-1 in conference play. They will be away at San Bernadino Valley on Tuesday. Game starts at 3 p.m.
