Comets push past Olympians for third place

CHULA VISTA, CA (11/5/2022) -- After going 1-1 in yesterday's action, Palomar found itself in the third-place match against San Diego Mesa and won 15-12. 

Palomar jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and kept pushing to score four more to Mesa's three to have a 8-3 halftime lead. Still not letting up, Palomar scored five goals in the third, but Mesa came back in the fourth to outscore the Comets 6-2.

For the second straight match, Arleigh Williams led the Comets with three goals. Alex Alvarez, Mitchell Masters and Aiden Rule each had two goals. Williams and Torin Carss recorded three steals. 

Palomar finishes their season 16-15 overall and 5-3 in conference play. They finished in third place in the conference tournament, an improvement from last season's fifth place finish.
