Comets back in win column after taking down Jets

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/5/2022) -- After playing on the road all season, Palomar hosted San Diego Miramar College for a PCAC meet and won 24-16.

The Comets and Jets went back and forth in the first quarter, which ended with the Comets down 4-3 before Palomar broke away to outscore Miramar 7-1 in the second to take a big lead at halftime. Palomar had just a little extra in their tank as they gently pushed past the Jets in the second half.

Palomar had three leading scorers, Sam Lawrence, Aiden Rule and TJ Turner all ended the day with four goals. Lawrence was 3-3 on 5-meter shots. Josh Farner and Daniel Bermea each pitched in with three goals. Arleigh Williams and Kieran Reilly showed off their defensive skills as Williams totaled six steals and Reilly had three.

Palomar moves to 8-9 on the year and 1-1 in conference play. They will be competing in the Riverside City College Tournament over the weekend where they will face host Riverside City and Long Beach.
