Men defeat Grossmont for second PCAC win

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/15/2019) – The Comets got their second conference win over Grossmont on Wednesday with a 12-10 win. The men scored four goals in the first quarter thanks to Kevin McCollum, Bryce Sammons and Scott Richards. Zac Lemly assisted on three of the goals.

It was all Palomar in the second quarter with two more goals from McCollum and another from Richards. Zane Bentley scored on an assist from Dalton DeSpain. Bentley scored the lone goal in the third on an assist from Lemly. In the fourth quarter, McCollum scored two more goals on assists from Matt Kraszulyak and Richards found the net one more time.

DeSpain had 11 saves on 21 shots and had two steals. Bentley had three steals. Kraszulyak, Truman Irion and Janson Barela all had two steals. McCollum had four steals.

The men are now in second place in PCAC play with a 2-1 conference record and 8-8 overall record. The Comets will be back in the pool this Friday at the Riverside City College Mini Tournament.
