Comets fail to bring the heat against Pirates

COSTA MESA, CA (2/7/2020) – After a tough loss to Saddleback on Tuesday, the men tried to bounce back to defeat Orange Coast College but lost 6-2.

The No. 2 doubles pair, Cer-Jeeno Villamoor and Michael Piarulli were the only Comets to win their match. They defeated OCC 's Nick Tran and Chris Nero 8-6. On the singles side of the match, Palomar's Daniel Di-Matteo defeated OCC's Lucas Freitas 6-2, 1-6, 10-8. Aiden Portillo lost the No. 4 singles match 7-5, 7-5 to Nero.

The men are now 0-2 as a team and will face Riverside City College at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
