SAN MARCOS, CA (10/20/2023) -- The Palomar College Comets took on the San Diego City College Knights and lost 4-3 on Friday night.
The Comets jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Lucas Meirelles scored at the 14-minute mark off a pass from Efren Mendez and then again on an assist from Jiovanni Colin at the 43-minute mark. The Knights responded with two goals right after halftime to even the score. In the 69th-minute Matt Esposito scored off a beautiful assist from Artur Trifol to take a 3-2 lead. The Knights scored two unanswered goals to make the final score 4-3.
Palomar falls to 6-4-5 overall and 3-2-2 in conference play. They will travel to San Diego Mesa College on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
