SAN DIEGO, CA (9/27/2022) -- Coming off a 3-2-3 start to the season, the Palomar Comets faced San Diego Mesa College for their Pacific Coast Athletic Conference opener and won 1-0 in regulation.
Sophomore Thomas Marques scored the lone goal of the game in the 16th minute. From there it was a matter of defense in the stalemate between the Comets and Olympians.
Freshman goalkeeper Max Subra has been dominant for the Comets all season and Tuesday night was no exception. As the Olympians brought the pressure, he stopped ball after ball coming up with some game-winning saves.
The Comets move to 4-2-3 overall and 1-0 in PCAC play. They will host rival MiraCosta College on Friday night under the lights for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Minkoff Field.
