ORANGE, CA (9/13/2022) -- Paloamr headed to Santiago Canyon looking for their first win of the season and that's exactly what they got, a 3-2 win over the Hawks.
In a scoreless battle through 66 minutes, the Comets broke through the stalemate first as Cesar Velasquez found the net on an assist from Eddie Villagrana. Shortly after, Alex Vidican scored on an assist from Henry Galindo to give the Comets a 2-0 lead. In the 81st minute, Masatoro Ono scored on a direct free kick.
As time ticked away, the Comets found themselves in stoppage time and the Hawks' pressure allowed them to score two goals, but the Comets held on to claim the win.
Palomar moves to 1-1-3 on the season and will face El Camino College on Friday at 4 p.m. as they near the end of their Orange Empire Conference tour.
