Comets draw against Dons

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/9/2022) -- Palomar College faced Santa Ana College under the lights and in the fog on Friday evening and walked away with a 2-2 draw.

The Santa Ana Dons got straight to work against the Comets, scoring their first goal at the nine-minute mark. Thomas Marques tied it up in the 42nd minute on an unassisted direct free kick to give the Comets new life. In a heated back-and-forth battle, the Dons and Comets' physicality was on full display for fans to see. The Dons broke the tied at the 73-minute mark to go up 2-1. In extra time, the Comets tied it up on a goal by Diego Picano.

Palomar moves to 0-1-3 on the season. They head to Santiago Canyon College on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. kickoff and will face El Camino College on Friday for a 4 p.m. kickoff on the road.
