Soccer's Covarrubias and Murphy commit to next level

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/27/2020) – Comet soccer players, Bryan Covarrubias and Seth Murphy have verbally committed to Life Pacific University and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, respectively.

Covarrubias was a forward for the Comets out of Vista High School. He played in 31 total games for Palomar, in which he started eight. He scored six total goals and had two assists. He scored two goals this past season, one against Imperial Valley College and one against San Diego Mesa College the following week.

Murphy, a midfielder, hails from Poway High School. He played in all 20 games this past season and started in all of them. He totaled 32 career starts for the Comets. Murphy scored one goal in each match against LA Harbor College, Cosumnes River College and Southwestern College. In his freshman season, Murphy had three assists to go along with one goal.

Life Pacific University is an NAIA located in San Dimas, CA and competes in the Golden State Athletic Conference, along with the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Cal Poly, SLO is an NCAA Division I school and competes in the Big West Conference. The Mustangs were 7-9-1 last season.
