SAN MARCOS, CA (11/5/2024) -- In an exhilarating season opener, the Palomar College men's basketball team claimed a 105-99 victory over Victor Valley. The Comets came alive in the second half, overcoming a narrow halftime deficit to seal the win with a relentless offensive performance and standout individual efforts.
Leading the charge for Palomar, Jaidyn Norman scored a remarkable 27 points, hitting two three-pointers and showcasing his versatility with seven rebounds and three steals. Forward Isaiah Pomare delivered a double-double, dominating on both ends with 29 points and an impressive 18 rebounds, solidifying his presence in the paint.
Max Zylicz made a significant impact off the bench, adding 18 points, including four three-pointers, and contributing crucial defensive stops. Guard Isaiah Tolmaire also played a key role, scoring 16 points and providing energy in transition, adding to the team's 24 points off turnovers.
