SAN MARCOS, CA (11/19/2022) -- Men's basketball put on a show for their home opener as they rolled past Victor Valley College 92-40 and head coach Ivan Patterson got his first win in the Dome.
The Comets got right to work overwhelming the Rams and took a 41-21 halftime lead. They didn't let up in the second half, outscoring the Rams 51-19. Coming off the bench, sophomore Mickey Chew led the Comets with 18 points, while Andrew Milot and Chad Robinson had 16 and 15 points respectively. Nathaniel Washington recorded 10 rebounds to go along with seven points, two steals and one assist. Ciro Baeza and Chew each had five assists and led the team.
As a team, Palomar forced 33 turnovers, committing only 11 themselves, to score 44 points. They totaled 39 rebounds and shot 48.7% in the field.
Palomar moves to 4-1 overall and will host their annual Thanksgiving tournament this weekend. They will face Oxnard College at 7 p.m. on Friday.
