CHULA VISTA, CA (2/5/2020) – Bouncing back after Friday's loss, the Comets pulled out an 86-73 win over Grossmont College.
Playing their first game with a complete team in weeks, the Comets had everything going right for them on Wednesday night. Despite having one of their worst free-throw percentages of the season, the team won the rebounding battle, grabbing 50 boards. They also caused 22 turnovers after only committing 12 themselves.
Sophomore Anthony Smith posted his fourth double-double of the season as he finished the night with 25 points and 14 rebounds. He also had three assists and one steal. Anthony Brewer had 12 points and seven rebounds to also go along with three assists and a steal.
The men improve to 17-6 on the season and 8-3 in conference play. They will face tough PCAC opponent Southwestern College on Friday night for a 7 p.m. road tip.
