
No. 7 Palomar Dominates No. 25 Southwestern in 24-5 Series Finale Victory
CHULA VISTA, CA (4/12/2025) -- No. 7 Palomar College closed out its series against No. 25 Southwestern College in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, exploding for 24 runs on 27 hits in a commanding 24-5 victory at The Junction. With the win, the Comets improve to 24-10 overall and 15-4 in PCAC play.
Palomar wasted no time taking control, scoring nine runs in the second inning and adding four or more runs in three separate frames. The Comets had 14 different players contribute offensively, including seven multi-hit performances and five players driving in multiple runs.
Offensive Fireworks

Jordan Treadwell had a monster day at the plate, going 4-for-6 with five RBIs, including a triple and a double.

AJ Klubeck went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while Justin Tucker added three RBIs and a double.

Braedon Peterson-Cheek finished 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, scoring four times.

TK Madera blasted a home run and went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Drake Cobb collected three hits and drove in two.

Carter Jorissen, Shanahan, Loving, and Macias also added key RBIs as the Comets poured it on.
On the Mound

Joey Navarro (3-0) earned the win, tossing six innings and allowing five runs on nine hits with two strikeouts.

Joey Halter, Mason Garris, and Jacob Imoto each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to close out the game.
Palomar scored in seven of nine innings and didn't commit a single error defensively. The Comets have now won five of their last six games and still sit in first place in the PCAC standings.
