Baseball drops game one to Mesa

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/23/2019) – In a must-win game, Palomar lost to San Diego Mesa 7-1 on Tuesday.

Justin Folz was 2-3 with the solo run of the day thanks to a fly out by Adrian Collazo (0-3) for the sacrifice play in the fourth inning.

Trevor Omahen went 1-3 and had one walk and one strikeout. Noah Hemphill was 1-4 and was left on base three times. Cameron Rowles was 2-4 with one strikeout.

Mitchell Hayes pitched 6.2 innings and had four strikeouts but gave up 13 hits and five runs. Parker Askergreen pitched 1.1 innings and had one strikeout and gave up three hits and two runs. Justin Miller pitched one inning.

The Comets will be on the road at Mesa on Thursday for game two in the series. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
