Comets bounce back and win game two in series

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/11/2019) – Palomar beat San Diego City 7-2 on Thursday.

The Comets got their bats swinging early in the first inning, scoring two runs. With runners on second and third, Justin Folz (2-4) singled and scored Braden Sanford (1-4). Trevor Omahen (0-2) scored on a sacrifice fly by Noah Hemphill (0-3).

Later in the sixth inning, Folz scored on an unearned run and in the seventh, Hayden Hastings (1-4) also scored an unearned run.

In the eighth inning, there were two outs and two men were on. Adrian Collazo (1-1) homered to make the final score 7-2.

On the defensive side, Braden Olthoff pitched 5.2 innings and had three strikeouts, gave up five hits and two runs. Connor Zalewski pitched three innings and had four strikeouts and gave up two hits.

The Comets will be back at San Diego City on Saturday at noon.
