Palomar gets bats swinging to beat Imperial Valley

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/2/2019) – Palomar defeated Imperial Valley on Tuesday 17-2 to take game one of the series.

The third inning was huge for the Comets. Evan Ianniciello (2-4) got things started with a double and collecting three RBIs in the process. Cameron Rowles (2-3) doubled next and brought Ianniciello home.

Later in the inning the bases were loaded and Jaiston Cabatbat (0-2) was hit by a pitch and was credited an RBI. Trevor Omahen (2-3) doubled and brought two Comets home. Hayden Hastings (3-3) also doubled with an RBI.

On the defensive side, Mitchell Hayes pitched six innings and gave up five hits and two runs. Justin Miller, Jake Umathum and Gavin Kinney all pitched one inning each.

The Comets will be at Imperial Valley on Thursday for game two of the series. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
