PCAC Individuals Are Up Next For Comets

CARLSBAD (4-21-2017) -- Palomar's beach volleyball team concluded the regular season on Friday and will move on to the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Individual Tournament next Friday and Saturday in Long Beach.

The Comets finished the regular season by dropping a pair of 5-0 PCAC decisions to MiraCosta, the conference champion, and El Camino College at Frazee Beach.

In the MiraCosta match, Kianna Niu / Brittany Mitchell nearly pulled off a major upset at No. 1 before losing 21-14, 17-21, 21-19.

Colleen Jones / Ashley Aubele lost 21-19, 21-16 at No. 2; Kelsey Payne / Lisa Eldridge lost 21-8, 21-13 at No. 3; Sammy Campos / Larissa Vela lost 21-16, 21-19, 15-9 at No. 4; and Sammy Radebaugh / Kacie Moreno lost 21-18, 21-18 at No. 5.

In the El Camino match, Niu / Mitchell lost 21-13, 21-16 at No. 1; Jones / Aubele lost 21-13, 21-18 at No. 2; Payne / Eldridge got off to a fast start before losing 8-21, 21-12, 15-9 at No. 3; Campos / Vela lost 21-12, 21-13 at No. 4 and Radebaugh / Moreno lost 21-12, 21-11 at No. 5.
