Set yourself Apart!

Every year, major universities receive thousands of applications to enter a Kinesiology Program such as Athletic Training. So how are you going to set yourself apart from others? 

As a Palomar Athletic Trainer Student, you will be able to build a foundation of skill and knowledge. While assisting an Athletic Trainer Certified during high impact Division I Junior College competition, you will develop the knowledge and confidence which many Program Directors at Division I University are looking for. Here at Palomar, our Athletic Training Room takes great pride in ensuring the highest quality of service to our athletes. You will be asked to take on the challenge of your college studies and learn the required skills as an Athletic Trainer Student. If you are interested in setting yourself apart and are willing to take up the challenge, complete our Application and set an appointment to speak with Flecicia Heise in room O-5 at Palomar's Main Campus.

Proficiencies will be obtained in the following areas:

¬     Taping (Ankle, Wrist, etc..)

¬     Using Wraps (Hip, Shoulder, etc..)

¬     Pre-game Field Survey

¬     Game Observation

¬     Pre and Post Game Treatments

¬     Injury Analysis, Care, and Prevention

¬     Blood Pressure and Pulse techniques

¬     Rehabilitation

¬     Data and Record Keeping

¬     Inventory and Equipment Maintenance

¬      Equipment Fitting and Fabrication

¬     Clinical (Pre-Physical, and follow-up)
