Bio

Cara Heise is an accomplished and forward-thinking leader in collegiate athletics communications, serving as the Sports Information Specialist at Palomar College since 2019. In this role, she directs all media relations, digital storytelling, content strategy, and game-day coverage for 17 athletic programs. Her creative vision and communications expertise have played a key role in elevating the profile of Comet Athletics across multiple platforms.

In 2022, Cara was appointed Marketing Coordinator for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, where she leads branding, marketing, and media efforts for the entire conference. Most recently, she oversaw a full-scale rebrand of the PCAC, modernizing its identity and strengthening its digital presence to better engage student-athletes, fans, and member institutions.

Cara began her career as a sports information intern at Northern Arizona University, working with a variety of NCAA Division I programs including football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and tennis. She holds two bachelor’s degrees from NAU—one in Journalism and the other in Political Science—and earned her master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California with a concentration in sports media.

An active member of the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA), Cara regularly contributes to statewide initiatives and serves on the media team for the CCCAA Basketball Championships each year.

With a passion for storytelling, a sharp eye for brand development, and deep roots in college athletics, Cara brings unmatched energy, strategy, and professionalism to every project she takes on.
