Bio

Vista High School product Kathy McAleer was the ace pitcher under Coach Mark Eldridge for Palomar's first-ever softball team, which began play as an independent in her freshman year of 1978. As a sophomore, she led the fledgling Comets into a highly competitive Mission Conference, pitching Palomar to a 14-4 conference record and its’ first championship in the sport, setting the tone for a legacy of pitching dominance that continues to this day. Kathy continued her playing career as a shortstop with the Madres regional-traveling ASA team and continues participation in the sport as a member of Lee’s Iron AA Co-Ed Softball Team in Vista, for whom she has helped win no less than 40 championships. Married to Raymond McKnerney in 2005, Kathy has enjoyed a long and successful career in the local retail grocery business. Introduced by: Mark Eldridge
