Bio

Aaron Gaeir came to Palomar College from El Cajon’s Granite Hills High School to win back-to-back state community college championships in the 158-pound weight class during the 1988 and 1989 seasons under long-time Comet Coach John Woods. One of just two two-time state champions in Palomar’s storied wrestling history, Gaeir helped lead the Comets to the state team championship in his freshman year. In each of his two seasons at Palomar, he earned Community College All-American honors. He went on to wrestle at the University of Oklahoma, where he placed third in the prestigious Big Eight Conference Championship Tournament in the 158-pound weight class in 1991. That high finish earned for Gaeir an individual berth in the NCAA Championship Tournament at Iowa City, Iowa later that same season.
