Bio

The second ranking career hitter in Palomar College softball history, Augrista Belford batted .433 for teams that finished second and third respectively in the 1995 and 1996 State Community College championship tournament. Under Coach Mark Eldridge, she set Comet records for single-season and career hits and doubles, was the California Player of the Year and  a two-time all-state and All-American selection. A product of Oceanside’s El Camino High School, Belford transferred to the University of Arkansas, where, as a starting second baseman and designated hitter, earned a selection to the prestigious All-Southeastern Conference Team in 1997. She transferred to Cal State Northridge for her final collegiate season, helping lead the Matadors to the Big West Conference title and an NCAA Division I tournament berth. She later served as an assistant coach on Eldridge’s Palomar coaching staff.
