Men's Golf Takes First by Seventeen Strokes

Palomar College Golf took on the PCAC event at El Camino at the El Dorado Golf Course in Long Beach, California. Men's Golf put it all together as they dominated their competition on the day, earning their first win of conference play. The Comets shot just five over par as a team which was 17 strokes better than College of the Desert in second place. Not only did Palomar get first on the day, but the medalist of the event wen to Palomar's Jacob Montes, who shot one under with a 71.

Jacob Montes earned his second medal of the year, first medal in PCAC play. His 71 lowered his season average score, bring it to a 72.8, which is now leading the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Alex Rhee and Zach Brown both shot even on the day, bringing Alex Rhee to 4th in the conference in season average and bringing Zach Brown to 7th.

Patrick Gorman finished the day with a 74, his best of conference play to this date.

Kyoshiro Azumada shot a 76, tying his second best score of the year in conference play.

This competition showed the true potential of the Comets Men's Golf Team as they have been pretty steady in third place before today. This first place win gives Palomar hope heading down the stretch, allowing them to hang in the race for first place in the PCAC.

Their next event will be March 28th, a home event for Palomar, at the St. Mark Golf Course in San Marcos.
