PC, playing a man short, wins on Kovac's 2 goals, is tied for third

PALM DESERT (10-10-2017) -- Playing most of the afternoon a man short after a red card in the 17th minute, Palomar still knocked off College of the Desert 3-2 behind Tyler Kovac's two goals on on the road on Tuesday and moved into a tie for third place out of nine teams in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference in men's soccer.

Southwestern leads the PCAC with a 5-1-2 record and 16 points, one point ahead of San Bernardino Valley, which fell to 5-2-1 and 15 points after being upset by MiraCosta. The Comets, San Diego Mesa and
COD are deadlocked for third with 3-2-2 conference records and 11 points.

Kovacs gave Palomar a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute with an unassisted goal. Ramon Felix answered with COD's first goal in the 15th minute and the teams were tied 1-1.

Kovacs' second goal, off an Aaron Garcia goal in the 24th minute, put the Comets ahead for good a 2-1. Angel Flores assist on a Kevin Granados goal in the 76th minute to give Palomar a two-goal edge, 3-1. Damian Camacho pulled COD to within a goal as time expired, but it turned out to be too little, too late for the Roadrunners.

Jaime Fournier played the ful 90 minutes at goal for Palomar. He recorded eight saves.
