Information for Student Athletes

Our objective is to provide the highest level of athletic and sports medicine care to the intercollegiate student-athletes of  Palomar College.  This includes the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries as well as helping to direct the nutritional, physiological, and psychological needs of the student-athlete.  The medical staff will conduct themselves with the highest ethical standards as set forth by the NATA.

Palomar College Athletic Training has established the following policies to help fulfill the colleges mission statement and ensure prompt, safe, and competent care to the injured athlete.

1.     To allow and encourage easy equitable access of the athletic training services for all intercollegiate student-athletes.

2.     Provide medical coverage for all sporting events by NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainers. www.nata.org

3.     To reduce the risk of injury for the student-athlete by utilizing injury prevention strategies.

4.     To promote a philosophy of sport that places a high value on health, wellness and lifetime fitness.

Physical Form

The Physician Signature Form is the form you need to bring to the doctor's office for your actual physical. All other forms and paperwork can be accessed through Athletic Training System (ATS). For information regarding login information please contact the Athletic Training Staff or your coach. If you are unable to pick up a Physician Signature Form from the Athletic Training Room, please download this form and bring it to your Primary Physician. We prefer that you use this form because our team physicians with specific questions feel that they are essential to knowing prior to participating in Athletics at Palomar College.
