Comets swim strong at PCAC Invite #2

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/17/2023) -- The Power Five were down to the Power Four on Friday afternoon at the second PCAC invite hosted by Palomar College.

The women got the day started with the 200Y Medley relay. Maggie Tanner, Elena Pena, Alessandra Fleischman and Charlize Molitor finished in second behind San Diego Mesa College with a time of 2:10.07. From there, Molitor and Tanner competed in the 200Y Free and finished 6-7 with times of 2:25.02 and 2:26.71, respectively. Fleischman finished in second in the 100Y Back with a time of 1:08.99 and Tanner finsihed in sixth with a time of 1:19.38. Pena won the 100Y Breast with a time of 1:12.43. Fleischman, Molitor and Tanner swam the 50Y Free and Fleischman won with a time of 25.04, while Molitor and Tanner finished 10-11 with times of 31.23 and 32.06. Fleischman and Pena then went 1-2 in teh 100Y Free with times of 56.12 and 56.47. In the final race of the day for the women, Pena won the 200Y IM with a time of 2:16.75.

Due to no diving boards on campus, the divers competed at San Diego Mesa College. The Gornall sisters went 1-2 in both the 1M and 3M. Megan won both events with scores of 209/95 and 244.15, while Emily scored 177.45 and 190.30.

Palomar will compete in the third conference invite next Friday at Southwestern College.
