Comets take down Griffins for first conference win

EL CAJON, CA (9/26/2023) -- Palomar College travelled to Grossmont College on Tuesday and came home with a 4-1 win to pick up their first conference win of the season.
The Comets attacked early, scoring two minutes into the game when Angela Hernandez connected a pass from Ashley Clark. They didn't let up and added another goal, this time Clark scored off a pass from Ashley Josselin Urtrilla, in the 16th minute. Maddie Speilman was able to find Audrey Breaux for the third goal of the game just before halftime. Grossmont scored their only goal right before the half ended. The Comets' final goal came from Breaux in the 75th minute as she connected a pass from Clark.
Palomar improves to 2-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference. They will travel to MiraCosta College on Friday for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
