Giving Tuesday and looking ahead to Regionals

Comets family and friends,

It's an exciting time for the team, as we're gearing up for the 2023 CCCAA Regional Championship tournament right here at Palomar College!

Giving Tuesday – Help Us Continue Our San Diego Wrestling Tradition!

As San Diego's only college wrestling team, Palomar has long been a staple in the California Community College (CCCAA) wrestling organization. The program has seen seven team state championships (tournament & dual), 36 individual state champions, and countless All-Americans. Additionally, many of our alumni have achieved athletic and academic success at four-year institutions. We hope to add many names to these lists in the coming years!

However, none of these accomplishments would be possible without the generous help of our amazing fans and supporters. We are humbly asking for tax-deductible donations to help guarantee our wrestlers retain the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level in the San Diego area. Donations to Palomar College Wrestling help fund the program in many ways, including but not limited to gear and uniform costs, hotel and travel fees for tournaments, wrestling room upgrades, sanitation expenses, administrative fees, and more.

Your generous donation means that our current team—and the many student-athletes who will follow in the coming years—will get the incredible opportunity to wrestle in college in San Diego. We are beyond thankful for the continued support of our friends in the wrestling community.

HOW TO DONATE:

  1. Online via Palomar's site: CLICK HERE TO DONATE – be sure to specify Wrestling as the account!
  2. Via check: CLICK HERE FOR CHECK INSTRUCTIONS

My Thoughts on CCCAA Regionals

The team has been putting in the work and looks healthy and ready to go. We have also shifted our training to emphasize high percentage positions, tactical situations, and mindset/visualization strategies. I believe we are doing what's needed to peak at the right time. Our lineup will be finalized and posted either tonight or tomorrow.

I would love to invite any high school teams in the area to come and check out the tournament on Saturday (starts at 10 a.m.). It's a great chance for them to see some excellent college wrestling and get a good look at the next level.
